I have never felt better than I do today and it is because of Hula Hoop Workouts. I am not a body builder or a cover model, just me; faults, strengths and all! My first winter in Snowy Ontario I felt myself feeling down and housebound. ( I am a California girl), but I bundled up, brought my camera and made THIS VIDEO OF HOOPING IN THE SNOW
As you can plainly see, the hoops used are not toy store hula hoops. They are made of irrigation tubing and grippy tape, they are weighted and larger, making it easier to allow an adults body to move freely.
In this site I will show you a great tutorial on how to make a weighted fitness hoop as well as introducing to you all the different types of hoops. Part of the fun is in making the hoops, however, it can be frustrating and sometimes dangerous. For example, last March, I spent 7 hours in an emergency rook when I sliced my finger cutting tubing!
It happened to be the night before a hooping workshop in Toronto with one of my favourite hoop teachers. Hoops can be weighted by sand or water (which can always be drained), or simply by the size and diameter with tape. The weight can be ample for a great hula hoop workout.
